Claire de Rouen Books is the only specialist photography and fashion bookshop in London, and has occupied it’s diminutive L-shaped space up a staircase in Soho since 2005. We focus on contemporary photo books but also stock out of print titles, self-published zines, fashion monographs and look books, as well as a carefully-edited list of international magazines – both current and back issues. We also sell unique prints and limited editions. You might find aNick Knight Yamamoto catalogue from 1987, a tender pamphlet on Spring by a young Japanese photographer, or a signed copy of Christian Patterson’s Redheaded Peckerwood gracing our shelves, or Singapore magazine Werk sitting next to an early Polaroid by Robert Mapplethorpe. Claire de Rouen collaborates with artists on occasional presentations which relate to the content and remit of the bookshop in a specific way. In the last year we have worked with Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Frauke Dannert, David O’ Mara and curator Anne Duffau. Our upcoming projects are with Rosawitha Hecke and Christian Flamm.
