Martien Van Beeck // In Limbo

The photos in this book are the result of an encounter between to make believe worlds: preservation in alcohol and photography. This encounter has to me been a game of stagnation, motion, countermoves and feints. Against grosteque gestures of the specimens I put the ludicrous 'artistic' actions of a photographer. Against the endless wailing of the specimens I put a short but murderous gesture.
