The Causes of Things

Borrowing its title from the Latin poet Virgil, the exhibition and catalogue are enigma and an attempt at returning to the source of thought and the creative act. The artist assumes the position of a lucid observant of the world and artistic creation. A collection of documents chosen by the artists that reveal to the reader the origin of their works, their source of inspiration and the process of work they follow and apply.

This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition "L'Origine des Choses / De Oorzaak der Dingen / The Causes of Things " at the CENTRALE for contemporary art of the City of Brussels, from March 7 through June 9, 2013.
