Fixing the Sun
Starting with the classical drawing, Ulrich Hakel’s oeuvre encompasses a conceptual and formal repertoire in the form of painting, sculpture and installation. A central theme in his work is the moment of human failure within all too concrete power structures and media worlds. Hakel’s works allude to specific social systems and their restrictions while incorporating elements from comics and free graphic gestures as a starting point. The book is the artist’s first monograph, which appears with his exhibition at Kunstraum Innsbruck.
