Tommy Stockel // Tommy Stockel's Art of Tomorrow

Stockel’s installation features hundreds of interconnected sculptures, all indicating possible future variations in his artwork. These are often into fields he has never touched on before, such as minimalism and furniture design. They fully utilise the gallery space they inhabit, playing with scale and the pace and circulation of the public, and all made with his trademark simple materials to emphasise the nature of the work. “They are not finished sculptures in themselves,” he says, “but rather representations of themes, styles and materials… I find it important that there is a hand-made quality to the finished pieces, because it gives them a finish that you usually only find in models and mock-ups".
